The Pathless™ Game Capture for Press

During my time at Giant Squid, I was able to support the port of The Pathless to Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The Pathless™ already had a foothold as a Playstation 5 launch title, as well as popularity on the mobile front as an Apple Arcade launch title, but there was a lot of opportunity to bring over old fans in addition to finding new ones. These efforts included publisher, Nintendo, and Microsoft requests such as creating new gameplay trailers, screenshots, store pages, live streams, and websites. I was also able to help with asset creation when The Pathless™ eventually left Apple Arcade and was moved over to the App Store.

Ultimate Rivals™ Game Capture for Press

Featured here is a set of images used by Bit Fry Game Studios to promote the Ultimate Rivals™ franchise in print magazines, online articles, banners, and music album covers. To capture these in-game assets in line with licensor requirements and marketing objectives, I needed to manipulate the product in-engine, changing character loadouts, removing certain branding, hiding VFX that would cause interference, and adjusting camera settings to create entirely customized builds of the game. I sent all photo sets and videos out to licensors for approvals, incorporating their feedback into additional rounds of post-processing and re-capturing as needed. All final assets were submitted to PR agencies or utilized our own social channels.

Ultimate Rivals™ Social Media

Showcased here are examples of custom content created specifically for social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Discord, and Twitch. Much of this content was based around roster reveals, launch announcements, character drops, gameplay-feature reveals, and targeted social engagement. Licensing required inclusion of at least 6 athletes per league in a "set" of assets, which forced us to think outside the box. "Highlight athletes" such as Wayne Gretzky, Alex Morgan, De'Aaron Fox, and Juju Smith-Schuster among others, could be used individually or as Cover Athletes to promote the product.

LOTRO® & DDO® Game Capture for Press

Part of my role at Warner Bros. was to capture screenshots for in-game splash screens, box art, magazines, and websites. These assets would promote new expansions, character gear, skins, and events. To achieve the visions of the marketing team I would stage props, create set lighting, and pose characters for in-game capture within our custom engine. Once the scene was rendered I would work with the Digital Designer and Art Director to complete final post-processing. Personal highlights included features in print magazines such as Game Informer, PC Gamer, and Massive Online Gamer.

Small Team Digital Marketing

The graphic designs and photos here showcase my experiences working for environmental non-profit organizations and schools like Washington State University. I publicized classes and events by developing ads, fliers, press releases and promotions with partners. I collected event video and photography to grow social media pages, websites, and for marketing campaign use, increasing reach and securing future donations. Assets were published in online blogs and newspapers, posted on Washington State ferries, and printed for events.
